Well, guess what? You're not Metric, and you know jackshit about their sound. If they don't want to play it, they're not gonna play it, and you could have had the same argument in 2004 and you would have gotten the same response. Given their current setlist, which yes, is quite stale, nothing from Grow Up And Blow Away would fit the dynamics of the current show. Not to mention two of the members weren't really part of the band when most of that material was written. And I'm not going to try to convince ...

I wasn't antagonizing, I was asking a simple question. Metric haven't released a video for a non-single since back in the OWU days, and even then, at least they were album tracks. Music videos take money to make. The reason they get made for singles is because they promote singles and make money back for their investment. You would agree with me that Metric deserve the money they earn, yes?

Also, please stop bitching about Metric writing "for Twihards." It makes you sound like a dick, and that clearly wasn't their reasoning, since they've already expressed ...

    Why not?

I love that Joules broke his drumstick at the end. You go, Joules!

Poor Emily always looks terrified on TV performances. Her hair grows fast.

Why would they make a video for a B-Side?

I'm surprised Emily didn't say anything about Escalator Over The Hill or Tropic Appetites when she brought up Carla Bley. (Two pieces that everyone here should listen to.)

Cool. Great. When do we get Plug In, Plug Out?

Ummm... You clearly don't know the definition of ignorance...

  • Gerard commented on a post by Chris on May 15th.

Yes, which is why they also said they wanted to make music for the masses.

  • Gerard commented on a post by zaynejenkins on May 15th.

Zayne, you haven't even heard the fucking song yet, don't assume it's going to be crap. That's the most ignorant thing anyone could ever do. You have absolutely no right to be judging the quality of an unheard song. Am I thrilled that one of my favourite lyricists is writing from the point of view as Bella Swan? Not at all, but it's Metric, and it's Howard Green. Chances are, musically, it will be brilliant.

What they did in Clean was nothing special, it was just a live performance of Dead Disco. It's ...

They haven't sold out, they've become successful, and with good reason.

    Hipsters are stupid.

In all honesty, I HATE that Emily is writing from the perspective of Bella Swan. I know she can do better than writing a love song for a glorified fan-fiction. It breaks my heart.

But, in the music's defense, Howard Shore writes some absolutely beautiful music. My choir is singing an arrangement of Into The West (from LOTR) right now, and the song is absolutely gorgeous. I would be fantastically excited for this song if it weren't for the fact that it's going to be tied to something I won't even call a film, and the ...

    Buh... Muse? Arenas? Gross :(

  • Gerard commented on a post by Joeyishellagood on Apr 26th.

I feel like the third one would make decent song lyrics as they are now.

But I don't wanna buy Fantasies again... After spending umpty thousand dollars on music and merch, I really wish I could just buy the acoustic CD. I'm running out of room in my CD holders.

Metric should have learned a lesson from the holy book of Lady Gaga on how to do a re-release and put this out a la The Fame Monster.

    UH HUH I WENT THUR.

It's all caffeine free, and faux-punk fatigue.

Yeah, this place has even less moderation than the forum does, which, again, you should all join, as this place isn't really such a good place to gather.

    Glaser Stencil

  • So yeah... This place has gotten kinda depressing with the lack of communication from management. SHAMELESS PLUG FOR THE FORUM Y'ALL SHOULD JUST GO THERE

For a "forum" of this size, only one moderator would be necessary.

  • So, not to sound rude, but Plug In, Plug Out was supposed to be released in November, and then promised to be available by the end of December, and then all the communications about it sort of vanished. Is there anyway we could get some sort of information on when (Or if, at this point) PIPO will ever be released on ilovemetric? Please?

I'd be waiting in line with you, but I have to sell my ticket because I don't have a way of getting to Kingston. SO SAD :'C

  • Gerard commented on a post by Joeyishellagood on Mar 25th.

Then I REALLY wish I were on the tour bus right now, the show obviously can't go on without me :P

I had a dream that I got to be the fifth member of Metric, only we didn't do any Metric-y things. We went to some cafe, and the fine print on the menu said "Metric get free sandwiches," so I got a free sandwich. So my favourite part of being in Metric was the free sandwiches. It was probably the best Metric dream I've had :P
