I wanna be a part of the forum as well but it seems to be nearly impossible to join.

I was always under the impression that Restless Records were the record company that had screwed over Metric with GUBA.

OWU, LIO and Fantasies were all published by Chrysalis weren't they?

I'll try to maybe put up the artwork tonight. It's minimal but I think its pretty cool.

  • Jipper commented on a post by Jipper on Jan 25, 2011.

oh i think i figured out why it hasnt been on ebay
    its published with chrysalis UK
this is from a whole different continent!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! how in the heck did it get all the way here?

Yeah I'd assume that theres less than 50-100 copies of this. Couldve been on the merch table at a couple early solo shows, or maybe it was just something that was passed around between record labels for a bit. I'm guessing i could make a solid $100 bux off this. Just a lil bummed that half of Sprig skips... :(
    Cool to look at tho.

ive never heard of anyone having a physical copy though. i wonder where it came from

  • Jipper commented on a post by Jipper on Jan 25, 2011.

ps. both tracks were produced by david newfeld, the guy that did all the bss records. its from 2004

  • Jipper commented on a post by Jipper on Jan 25, 2011.

Yeah it can be found online, but the version on this cd is in WAY better quality. it sounds really trippy and it makes sense being paired with Sprig. Same producer by the looks of it. Unfortnately theres a scratch on the Sprig track, but it rips to itunes fine. sounds exactaly the same as the version on What Is Free.

having second thoughts of selling it. the artworks pretty cool!! is this even worth anything in ebay dollars?

  • hey does anyone know anything about an Emily Haines Sprig/Detective Daughter single CD? I found it at a used CD store here in Toronto. Its got really cool packaging. I was wondering how rare it is and how much I could sell that shit on ebay for. Whats the history behind this thing?
It seems to have the version of Sprig thats on What is Free and also that mysterious 7 minute version of Detective Daughter.

    Well Gerard,

You're right. You're not ignorant at all either. However, I am from a much higher power. I am in closely measured whispers away from the Ears of a Soft Rock Star. [Try to to crack that one, buddy] And I plan to be a source of future predictions that wash us like waves.

    Goodbye for now Gerard.

  • Hi,

Just wanted to post this review from Recording Pristige Magazine circa 2003. It's a real thinker, let me know what you guys think.

"When I first met Emily Haines at a New York Metropolitan Ave Cafe, I was allured by both her presence and soft-spoken intelligence which dimmed the air with a subtle presence. She is the wisechild of introspective poets and a true daughter at the heart of a musical revolution, but is her image provoking the use of several caniditory elements along the independent music scene? The bands arrival in New York led an allegiance to ...
