One week from tomorrow I'll be front and center!
I'm actually missing a whole day of college including clinic [which someone should *never* miss] and ill be waiting in line several hours before. I would normally never do this, however Metric does crazy things to a girl, that's all I can say.
<3
Metric does crazy things to everyone :)
I'd totally do the same. I'm considering paying $250 that I don't have to see them with Lilith Fair when it's in Minneapolis. But I don't know if that'll actually be possible/a good idea cause it's seated and seats make concerts exponentially less fun. And Metric you just gotta get up and dance, man. And scream. And act like a generall foo.
I'd be waiting in line with you, but I have to sell my ticket because I don't have a way of getting to Kingston. SO SAD :'C
"seated and seats make concerts exponentially less fun"
Ewww, yeah it does. Having seats at a Metric show has to be the most stupidest thing in the entire world .
I'm doing this for the Petrborough show! WHOOO!!!
Anyways, yes people, DO NOT BUY SEATS FOR A METRIC SHOW. I speak from experience. :( It was still a fantastic show, but it's just nowhere NEAR the same as standing up and being close to the band. Or at least moving around. It'd be way more worth it to skip a Metric show if you could only get seated tickets and wait for them to come around again so you can get general admission or something. Unless you have money coming out your butt and you don't care either way :P
Annnnyways, I'm going UBER EARLY for the peterborough show, which I've never really been able to do before for the past Metric concerts I've been to. I AM DYING TO GET FRONT ROW SPOTS. I /need/ Front Row spots. I've been close before but not close enough. I'll be leaving around 12 for an hour or so bus ride to Peterborough from Oshaawaaa and the doors open at 7, so I hope that
a)I am the first or second one there,
b) my stomach will be all "hey i don't need food today!" so i don't lose my spot in line, and
c) I don't have to go to the washroom for 6 hours for the same reasons.
I think I'm going to bring a colouring book to amuse myself before the show, AND hopefully there will be happy nice people to talk to during those six hours :P
Megan: Thank you. I think I'll wait until they come around again and AREN'T AT A PLACE WITH FUCKING SEATS to see them. Although I'm DYING to see them again. It's been almost a year =(
Here are some protips on staying in line for a ridic amount of time before a show! (via my recent Metric/No Doubt concert going experiences)
1. Bring food that you can a) share and b) throw/give away at the end of the day so you don't have to carry anything around at the show.
2. Make friends with the people near you in line so they'll save your spot if nature calls or whatever. It shouldn't be hard considering you're all pretty hardcore lol.
3. If anyone gives you shit for being there early, just get really enthused. Metric=totally worth it.
Update:
did it! 6 hours with great friends and new friends : )
Best night of my life.
I was front and centre for the whole night, and got to see a private Arkells preview show and got on the radio hahaha
It was fantastic!!
