Metric is cranking out videos like third world babies. At least do something nice and make videos for "Collect Call", "Waves", and "Blindness". Maybe a Justice remix of "Gimme Sympathy". Yeah. That would be badass.

Why would they make a video for a B-Side?
You just love to antagonize me, don't you?! I'll answer your question with a question: Why wouldn't they? You act as if there's some law in the music industry stating that a B side can't be made into a video. "Waves" is better than 80% of what songs made the album in my opinion. If they could write a song for Twihards, I'm sure a video for a B side isn't anything extraordinary.
Let's not generalize by saying "you...etc". Be assertive and say "I..etc"!
I wasn't antagonizing, I was asking a simple question. Metric haven't released a video for a non-single since back in the OWU days, and even then, at least they were album tracks. Music videos take money to make. The reason they get made for singles is because they promote singles and make money back for their investment. You would agree with me that Metric deserve the money they earn, yes?
Also, please stop bitching about Metric writing "for Twihards." It makes you sound like a dick, and that clearly wasn't their reasoning, since they've already expressed they don't know much about the series at all. Howard Shore personally contacted them. Anyone with any sort of appreciation for modern music would take that opportunity, because not many artists can say they sat down and wrote with Howard Shore, and Emily herself has said that she has appreciated his work since she was a child. Why the hell wouldn't she take up that chance? Because she's afraid some little girls she probably doesn't like will listen to her music? Who the hell cares? I can't understand why you think that just because Metric are going to be associated with something popular in today's culture, they're bad. Please, if all you want to do is complain about how they're too popular because they were GASP ON THE RADIO AND IN TWO MOVIES, take your pathetic excuse for indie-cred and get out.
You're seriously just a dumbass buying into this shit. Obviously they want to make money. Whether it's on Twilight or Barney, I'm sure they don't give a shit. Of course Emily probably went onto Wikipedia before that interview so she could still try to keep the true fans that came along for the ride before Fantasies. The fans they don't respect. The fans who constantly ask for at least one classic song aside from their usual at a show. Yeah, we're tired of not hearing the good ass music from Grow Up and Blow Away, even if the band "doesn't think it's their sound", to a lot of fans, it still is.
Well, guess what? You're not Metric, and you know jackshit about their sound. If they don't want to play it, they're not gonna play it, and you could have had the same argument in 2004 and you would have gotten the same response. Given their current setlist, which yes, is quite stale, nothing from Grow Up And Blow Away would fit the dynamics of the current show. Not to mention two of the members weren't really part of the band when most of that material was written. And I'm not going to try to convince you to like Metric, personally I'm happier if you don't, because from the beginning, they've said their music is for the masses, and if you don't like that, you have no business listening to them. They still completely respect their old fans, and from the times I've talked with them, they seem really relieved and excited to talk about their older material and poetry and music in general and not just how "omg super kewl that alive song" is. Given Emily's roots in jazz, you shouldn't be surprised AT ALL at how much she admires Shore's work. But that's okay. Popularity is a sin.
