Well. All the sudden I see 14 year olds at Metric shows. But i also see 40 year olds. A pretty strange sight from back in the day when it was mostly 20-something year old dudes. How has Metrics music all the sudden attracted such a universal audience? At first, I felt kinda weird about it, but it's actually pretty amazing that a group of musicians can get all these people in the same room for the common love of real music. When did you first start liking Metric? For me it's been about 6 years.
It's coming up on 7 years for me. Back in the days of using those little computers in giant CD stores to preview albums, my 12-year-old self had the intent of buying another Fountains Of Wayne CD, and then I saw OWU and I thought it had the coolest fucking artwork ever (It's still my favourite album artwork.) and I previewed Dead Disco because I thought it had a cool name, and the rest is history? Or at least a really obsessive fanboy :P
Two years, give or take. I wish I knew about them earlier, though. Much earlier.haha
=)
I'm coming up on... four years now I think. Three or four, something like that. It's funny cause my friend who introduced me to them isn't nearly as obsessive as I am. Either way, it's really weird now that they've gotten somewhat big. I'm used to no one knowing who they are.
let's seeee, 23 months if I calculate that exactly.
It makes me sad that I didn't know them before, but I got to see them before they even were putting together Fantasies, so I'm happy at that.
I"m jealous of everyone who has known them longer
It's been seven years for me that I've liked them as a band (I would have been one of the young ones at the concert), and I'd say about five years since I've loved them! I also had a friend introduce me to them because she wanted someone to go to a concert with them. She's no longer a big fan, but for me it only grew from there. I feel like I was missing out for the years before that, and not just for Metric; they introduced me to so many other amazing bands as well.
