But actually, if I had to pick an instrumental one, I'd have to go with Gimme Sympathy. The guitar/synth line in the chorus is so delicious :)
That video was amazing!!! Definitely down with 'Stadium Love' for Country Metric. I don't know what I would say for a national anthem, but for Los Angeles, 'Hustle Rose'.
Haha, Joey, I'm just picturing whenever the national anthem starts up everybody starts jumping around and cheering instead of just standing at attention.
'Love Is A Place'. Sounds anthem-ish enough to me. God, that actually would've been amazing...
And yeah that video was pretty awesome. I'd definitely want a citizenship in Country Metric! ;)
I remember she did something similar to that when they were here. It fucking ruled.
Briggins: What better way to show respect for your country than shakin' what yo momma gave you? =)
I just watched that video and called my brother over to see it too. My description? "God, she's insane but she's a frickin' genius." Thanks for posting Gerard!
I'm not sure I like her talking about the "Canadian-American Country" though...I love all of you Americans, but feel engulfed when people group us together! I'd take a citizenship in Country Metric though haha.
Hmm, for these questions I always open my iTunes and look through all of my Metric songs so I can consider them one at a time. This was hard because I kept thinking "those lyrics would never work!" then re-remembering it was instrumental. I'd have to say "Waves" if you slowed it down the tiniest bit and gave it a marching band-esque beat :)
OH MY GOD. DEAD DISCO. We'd be the rockin'-est nation on the planet!!!
But on a serious/non-hyperactive note, London Halflife comes to mind. It's reallly simple and prettyful.
