• Completely off topic but there was an earthquake here tonight (or morning if you will - it was 1:37AM)! And it was a pretty "decent" one too - 6.1 of magnitude! It was really, really scary, like my bed wouldn't stop shaking (and I'm not overreacting, I could feel my whole body shaking)... Not a pleasant experience, I tell you that.

I can't even believe that! An earthquake would completely terrify me...I think I've seen one too many disaster movies where an earthquake signals impending doom. Stay brave over there, glad you're okay!

I think the scariest part was actually the sound. I don't even know where it came from but it almost seemed as if the ground was roaring. I know it sounds ridiculous, but I'm not the only one saying that, other people heard it too. Apparently it lasted three minutes, though I haven't felt it for that long. It's officially the biggest earthquake we've had here in forty years, though, fortunately, there's no damage or victims registered.
It's funny you mention disaster movies, cause I almost immediately thought of "2012".haha Anyway it's all good now, it was just a fright.
=)

Oh my God! That's so scary! I'm gonna go look and see what news there is about it on the internet... But I'm really glad you're okay! You're not allowed to die in an earthquake before you see Metric live =)

Having been near the epicenter of a 6.9 quake, I can tell you that earthquakes are very scary, even if they don't end up causing much damage (which this one thankfully didn't.)

"You're not allowed to die in an earthquake before you see Metric live"
haha you raise a valid point there actually!
=P

I just checked a few forums and many people said that they could barely stay on their feet! I'm actually quite saddened with my reaction: I just kept lying down, completely paralized by the fear. I just couldn't move a muscle. =(
But what really pisses me off is that the authorities are saying that it's not a big deal, that it's very normal and there's nothing to be worry about! They almost make it sound as if it's some sort of a daily basis routine. But then again they probably don't want people to panic, but still...

Well good thing you're okay, LazyDancer.

Take care, check this out
