I would too if I didn't have fucking finals tomo... I'm kinda pissed about not being able to go to see them at Lolla. Hopefully they'll come back this way again soon. (Even though it's only been like two weeks haha)
wow i would give anything to go to lollapalooza but its way to far from where i live. i missed them by one day at blues fest in ottawa and it was just so sad.
Oh, it's not too far from where I live... only like a 7 hour drive and I have lots of friends who live in Chicago. My problem is I have a STUPID WORK RETREAT THIS WEEKEND THAT I DO NOT WANT TO GO TO AT. ALL. >=( >=( *pouts* I hope they realize that around 5 on Saturday when Metric is playing I'm going to be bawling uncontrollably haha.
No way, i wish i knew people in chicago haha. i totally agree, when i missed them at like every festival this summer i actually cried, every time. No one understands how much i love this band.. words cannot describe! I hope you make them feel terrible about you missing the show!
Dude, I totally understand how you feel. I met them three weeks ago and I was so like... awestruck that I probably came off like an idiot. And afterward I cried hardcore. Like everyone around me was like... Dude, what's wrong with you? And believe me, I've already bitched about it on Facebook quite a bit and again, I'll probably end up crying... Le sigh...
YOU MET THEM! wowwowo what did you say? What did they say to yoi?!?! I just wouldn't know what to say at all. I always ask people, like should you meet your heroes or the people you look up to and I always get mixed answers. I really do want to meet them though, one day. I really would be so in shock that I would just ruin the moment haha.
Haha, yeah I did! I was just like, "Thank you guys so much... your music literally saved my life. Like I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for you." and showed them my Metric tat and EMILY SAID IT WAS GORGEOUS!!!!!!!!!!! And then they signed the sign I had made for them and I talked to Joules for a little bit and HE HUGGED ME before I left. I was so like awkward though just because I was so like awe struck because they were RIGHT THERE. Like... Jimmy and Josh and Joules and Emily were like REAL. And they were acknowledging my existence and talking to ME. And also Emily is just indescribably beautiful in person that I can't even put it into words. When she first came out of the dressing room (I was backstage when I met them) I was just mesmerized... You know how beautiful she is in pictures and videos? Multiply it by like a thousand. And they were all SO COOL. Like definitely people I'd hang out with and they were REALLY nice and really genuine. I was really afraid that they'd end up being a bunch of assholes just because I know people who really looked up to someone and met them and they were like, "Yeah, they're a douche in person..." but they're just... fantastic. I love Metric even more now.
Also, during the show Jimmy kept looking over at me and smiling because I was REALLY into it... and had a sign. Making a fool of myself was totally worth it.
Ok, let me start by saying that I have never met you but you are officially my hero! I don't know anyone who has actually met them, I'm glad to know they are pretty sickk people in real life haha.. Man, meeting them would complete my life. Did you like sneak backstage or did you have special passes? When they came to my town I literally begged radio stations to get me backstage but I had zero luck. Although at the end of the concert I was frontrow and i mouthed 'I love you' to Josh and he came over and reached to me and grabbed my hand.. So it was amazing. But I would really love to meet them in person one day! I didnt have a sign but let me tell you next time i will LOL
Haha, I met the promoter for Lilith Fair at a festival and he talked to their road manager and they got me backstage. It helps that I have a Metric tattoo I think... I'm obviously a little dedicated to this band =) I didn't know it was happening until a few hours before it did and I shat myself a little haha. I'm sure someday you'll get a chance. I honestly didn't think it would. It'll be awesome and totally worth it because they're all so rad.
well that is sick, thanks for sharing! if you don't mind me asking, what is your tattoo of? i'm assuming a song quote? i think if i got one it would say 'live it out'- its pretty much what i live by haha
It says, "I can't feel a thing, my dreams are so tight" in green and then there's a blue moon and some green, yellow, and blue stars around it. If you go back a while I posted a picture of it on here a few months ago.
