New Metric Video Premiere – Eclipse "All Yours”
Our video for Eclipse "All Yours" premieres today, exclusively on Myspace! We recently had the honor of writing the theme song for the film Twilight: Eclipse with legendary film score composer Howard Shore and have just finished shooting the video to go along with it. We got to work with director/photographer Brantley Gutierrez on this one, and we love how it turned out.
You can check it out here!
Hmm not bad...I LOVE the shots of Emily in the cabin, they have the feel of the Buenos Aires documentary :) The first 30 seconds with the piano are actually gorgeous. I would have clearly been happier with more shots of Jimmy, Joules and Josh and less shots of Twilight, but I guess it's understandable that (since it's Twilight footing the bill on this one) they're going to use it promotionally. Overall, pretty and polished and a lot of lovely face time for Emily, but I'd take a lower-budget Metric-only video first :)
Really trying hard to not be snobby here, but it is really, really hard to stay loyal to Metric after this. Twilight?
I agree with Alex. It's weird seeing Metric so overproduced. And if there's one thing I hate it's videos with movie clips in them so a little disappointed. Meh, can't hold it against them though. I still loves me some Metric =)
It's odd that a movie so awful can have such great music accompany it.
Also that Howard Shore went from Lord of the Rings to Twilight.. Peculiar. Still think the song is lovely, of course.
Emily is good for the eyes, isn't she? now if I were in a cabin in the middle of nowhere and the tv turn on suddenly with the images of those two kissing or whatever I would run away from the living room thinking it was some kind of bad and creepy joke..
I like the shots they did for her..they're really gorgeous..
Hahahaha, I completely agree, Patty! I made my status on Facebook last night "Joey isn't going to Eclipse. Like this if you're doing the same." and almost 50 people have liked it so far!
haha..I would like it too if I saw that...a friend of mine invited me to watch that,I told her ''seriously? are you that desperate to see this with someone that you would invite ME to watch the film? I mean: ME''..I'm glad she understood the subtle ''no,thank you''
It's a pretty good video. It is however twilight. But, I'm just glad that Metric has finally made it big and I hope that they're having a good time.
I hope that too :) for what we can see from interviews and all, they're down to earth people and that's important when you have a lot of attention: keep the track, don't lose it for the wrong reasons whatever they are.
